I guess when it comes to fengsui, just like many other issues, we are left with unsure minds. How do we know if it works or not, perhaps, even the practitioners cant be sure.

Specifically when it comes to feng sui, for instance, how do you know what you have set up according to hte fengsui masters really work? When your life gets better, it could be attributed by the merits that you hvae done, it could be that you feel good after the visit and you do something different that is what actually bring in the good things? Who knows?

FengSui, some believe in it, some dont. For me, I half-believe in it.

There are many fengsui masters in the world, it is really hard to name or to find one unless we get info from friends, or friend's friends, who have engaged the service and have solid proof of success.

But anyway, welcome anyone who knows any such good master. I may engage their service later on.

You are right in saying that tying our expectations on something may create disappointments, as we expect certain results.

I do try checking on various sources - internet, newspapers, etc and also contacting my friends for job opportunities, and all these did produce results, but NOT the exact result - ie, got a job at hte end - that i wanted.

Yes, something could be wrong about what i said over the interviews, but looking backwards, we only know that it is wrong when we look back. Right? When we dont get call after 2 days, we know that we have said something wrong. For isntance, in one interview, i was asked what is my long term career goal, which i answered as that i want to get into more of hte strategy, planning roles later one after  a few years. The guy then said that it could be that there will be no such role after about 5 years time. When i talked to my friend later, she said that i should have said....this and that.

Never forget that when it comes to interview, we are dealing with subjective factors, including things such as if we are able to built rapport with the other party. Sometimes you dont just get to do that, so who's fault is that? If that interviewer just have a bad hair day on that particular day, whoes fault is that?

That is why i hope much that i could get something out of that lead, cos that should be easier.......

Can you tell me where can i locate 'hon juah' master (sorry i dont know how to type in chinese)?

Tks for your comments. I am infact working part time now in order to have some cash to buy things i need. But of course, i still hope that i can get into something more permanent and that something that i like to do. I want to develop a career on long term basis, so i dont really feel like going into doing something which i dont feel/see the future.

It is ok if i were to start from something more basis, as long as i can see the development potential in hte company. I am infact asking a relative of mine to help pull the string. I have been through the first round interview met up with the Executive Director, his comment is ok.

This string is a bit complicated - My relative know a person (A) who was his ex-colleague before. She is one of hte pionners there. My relative mentioned to her about my situation and she was very willing to help and so she arranged an interview which i have passed. The problem is, however, there is no exact fit between the current positions available within the company and my background, so i guess the executive director was i think just leaving my case KIV.

A week later i approached my relative again telling him that i really would like to work there, even starting from something more basic. I see hte potential working there and so i dont mind a lower post. I think this is better than working in places i dont like, or working on part-time basis, cos both situations are not going to bring long-term solution.

(A) received the message and so according to her she would make some 'arrangements' talking to hte departmental head (there was infact till now 6 persons within the comapny that have left, chances are higher but as my background does not provide exact match, there may seem to be a problem for them, in any case, (A) has mentioned that she will teach me if i manage to come in).

I know to get a job through other ways would be more long-winded so i kind of pin my hopes in this. Really hope that things will materialise........

This relative of mine infact knows the CEO (the biggest man) of hte company. But he does not really want to use this king-card, he mentioned. Things are really out of my control. I want to see result here, but i cant push too hard.

Any idea you have about this that I can do to maximise my chance?

btw, i dont mind you asking question using my thread. Infact, i welcome this. Not a problem.

Tks so much for taking double effort in writting to me. I am a person with inquisite mind too, i like to find out things that interest me, although whether or not i will keep on doing the researching is another issue.

Two months is nothing from my point of view when it is compared to my time of almost a year. I broke down a few times whenever i think about my situation. I hope so much that i can join the workforce, waking up early in the morning and then doing something, and end of hte day bringing in paycheck which i can then use to purchase things that i need.

I am now using my past savings, and it is not fun seeing the amount keeps doing down every time when you do withdrawing.

Lucky thing is that i do have friends that care for me and so i dont feel as if i am being all by myself, this will be a even more terrible feeling.

I have read through your writting and will read through it again as i am getting a bit tired right now.

It has been very interesting conversation here that I enjoy very much.

It is definately that I enjoy what I have experienced, but i really enjoy all these ideas and various experiences that get into this discussion.

Since some days ago i have already said that i would not go see the medium for cleansing act. So this definately will not happen. But all these things, be that accurate or not, still appear interesting to me. There are many things that await our discovery in this world.

Whether or not I will report this to the police, or any other actions that I will take out, I will think about it and then do accordingly. I have the thoughts of making me as the bait and let hte police catch him red-handed, but i have also been advised that the police may not really come and it will be me that will be in trouble. I never thought of this, perhaps I have watched too much of the movies, thinking that things will go as they are planned. Reason for me doing so is that, as Jacqn has said, not many ppl will seek second opinion and they may end up to be victims. This is not what i want to see. Yes, in a way, i am a bit lucky as i jump out of this trap before it is too late.

I have also been advised that if i were to rake up this issue it could also be that I will be 'punished' by the medium using evil force. So, this can be a tough decision to make.

There are some in this tread saying that for those ppl who ask for things, they will have to pay back one day. Who knows whether this is true? We are not those mediums and they may or may not choose to help us. Or, they may just be pretending......

I really enjoy all the thoughts that have been chipped in thus far. You guys have been helping me in one way or another. I really appreciate!

I am not sure if i should call this medium as fortune teller, cos he is not quite. If i can summarise what i have experienced with him, he is like a person who has / claims to have god's powers.

What he usually does is to read my palm, sometimes write something onto my palms before he tells me things that I want to know. I also noticed that he will look at a person very intentionally for a few seconds before i sit down with him.

Perhaps hte most appropriate name ot call him is 'medium'.

btw, why do you say that palm reading is not realiable? You have experience of this?

3. What is 'dana'? What does it do it we do give dana to monks? What special things will happen if we manage to give dana to highly respected monks?

The "guai" is now i think spelt a bit wrongly that is why all this confusion. I was told by that medium that he could see if one has "guain1" around their bodies and ppl can 'accumulate' that through chanting 'namo-o-ni-to-fo'.

According to your understanding, is it true -

1. True that through chanting, a person can accumulate this kind of 'brightness' around him/her

2. And, this 'brightness' can help a person in achieving his/her goal?

I have your contact for your teacher, how should i introduce myself? Saying that I am brought to her by you through this forum? And, I can ask her almost everything? Especially how i can help myself out of this situation?

Cycle, you are right in saying that you are not me and hence you dont feel how i feel - I have been in the job search for nearly 1 year and so it is not fun. In situation like this human beings resort to other ways which they hope can get them out of hte situation.

One question that i would like to have reply on - how i can reach dharma teacher? I have asked this twice but have yet to receive any reply.

btw, an-eternal-now, is it true that chanting namo ao-ni-to-fo will create 'brightness' around our bodies? Or, in chinese called 'guai'?

I am writting this in the hope that I can reach you - An Eternal Now...

Recently i have been pretty puzzled by the relationship between buddhism and medium - those who claim to have god's power, and those who claim to be able to predict the future and know the past.

I personally am not really into religion. But recently I have been having quite a bit of problems with my job search and through a friend of mine I came to know a man who claim to have powers of "Thousand Hands Kuan Yin".

He worship 'Thousand Hands Kuan Yin" and (I think) "Toa Pei Gong" in his house. He stays with his wife, his father, children and one grandson in Singapore.

I have been to his place four times, all asking about my job search. I do not wish to go into details cos it can be pretty lengthy. But in general, for some, he can say it well - like, when he looks at my palm, he says that i have back problem (during hte first visit), which is pretty right, cos i have problem with my back (nerves issues) and feel pains when i turn my body around even in bed. Now the situation is better.

He made prediction on my job search, which didnt come true and this is how the story starts - He came to my house, and the conclusion is that my gate door is not good and so all the goods lucks are blocked away. He asked us to plant a coconut tree in front of our house, and also to shift our ancestor's table........

The main point is that, later on, he said that he could help by passing over a jade to me, which has been 'kai guan'. This I have collected.

On the same day, he looked at both my palms again and said that my job would not come that fast, it most probably will be in August (chinese's calender), I was so sad htat i burst into tears.

At hte same time, he also said that my life would go downhill. My health is not going to be good after my marriage and that even if i get married, there may be divorce later on.

THEN, he mentioned to me about the 'cleansing' thing - that he can perform a ritual on me that my life will be good later on. He said that the first three months i will be feeling sick cos that is hte time all hte bad things will 'leave' my body . He also said that my life will only be average for the beginning three years, but later on it will be good.

I was feeling not comfortable with this idea cos i have heard of bad things like this. I asked him how it would be like and etc which he replies as that it can be a bit 'inconveient' cos I need to be naked but the important parts will be covered. He said that some things are needed, such as preparation of flowers etc but he also said that these he can prepare.

He ever mention that we can do it in my family which I rejected upfront cos with my family staying with me this is quite impossible. Then he mentioend about those hostels on hourly charge....

I think i have said things long enough and now I would like to hear from you - An Ethernal Now - what is your thoughts on this as you seem to know quite a bit about Buddishim.

I chanced upon a line which you wrote about "guan yin" that those could be "ghost-deity"..

I have talked to a friend of mine who said that these so-called mediums have 'kumonthong" (evil baby) that helps them, is this true?

He always ask us to read "Na mo O Ni Tuo Fo" in our heart. He said that this will invite good things into our lives. Is this true?
